Technology
The implementation of technology in agriculture is rapidly changing the way we do business. Anderson Circle Farm has and will continue to explore new technologies relative to our farm operation. We are currently using software developed by Belcan Corporation for recording labor, maintenance and inventory tracking. Coupling this information with GPS yield monitoring and mapping, we can maintain the detail necessary to do field level enterprise analysis.

Additionally, this system allows us to maintain adequate records for process verification and identity preservation on both crops and livestock. The cattle program uses chute side computers and electronic identification (Radio Frequency ID) of each animal to maintain records on weights and animal health procedures. Also, software has been adopted relative to cow herd management, feedlot management, and maintaining pedigree/performance data.

The entire farm operation has been mapped with every building, fence, gate, utility lines and meters, and internal roads identified and coded for data management purposes. This information is utilized with a physical structures hand held computer module to track repairs and maintenance.
