Wildwood
Several items belonging to the Goddard family were found during the restoration, and were placed in a glass case at the Beaumont Inn. The Inn is owned and operated by the Dedman Family, direct descendents of the Goddard Family. One item found under the rafters of the porch was a hatchet with the initials W.W.G. carved on the handle. These items, including a copy of the book, Uncle Will of Wildwood and numerous historical photos of both the Goddard Family and Wildwood, are available for public viewing at the Inn.

In Uncle Will's day, Mercer County was a pleasant and comfortable place inhabited by gentle folk who lived graciously. As a consequence of extremely fertile soil and abundant water supply, a community of prosperous farmers and stock breeders evolved with considerable wealth being built on hemp, tobacco, and livestock. Mercer County became well known throughout the United States for the production of fast trotters, thoroughbreds, saddle horses, and prizewinning shorthorn cattle. Some of the finest horses and cattle in the world were bred and owned in Mercer County, and Anderson Circle Farm is proud to a part of this continuing tradition today.
